Upcoming Meetings and Gatherings

ConKerr Cancer – A Case for Smiles

A group of ladies from the Red Hat Society and our Church are getting together to make pillow cases for children in Harrisburg Hospital.  We hope to branch out to Hershey Med Center in the future, but for now we are involved only with Harrisburg Hospital.

The Group is called ConKerr Cancer – A Case for Smiles

Make a Pillowcase for a child with Cancer or Life Changing Illness at Pediatric Hospitals

Cindy Kerr is a local Pennsylvania girl.  She started making pillowcases for her son Ryan when he was in Chemotherapy.  It always brought a smile when she pulled out a new one before each treatment! She started making them for other kids.  Now they are so popular she can’t keep up.

This is where we come in.

ConKerr Cancer has donated more than 16,000 pillowcases to sick children in hospitals spanning from Connecticut to Florida.  Our mission began at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children.  We continue to grow thanks to the kindness and dedication of our many volunteers.

Would you like to help?

 If so, contact Barbara Witmer

Telephone – 717-763-4285

You do not have to know how to sew……if you can measure, use a scissor, pin, iron or use your washing machine to launder the pillowcases, you have what it takes.

We will be meeting on the 4th Thursday of the Month

at Chapel Hill Fellowship Hall (upstairs)

4th. Thursday – 6 to 8 pm

Looking forward to having your help with this worthwhile endeavor.
